Women's Philanthropy

Women's Philanthropy is a creative force for connecting Rochester’s Jewish women through community outreach and resource development. Through our work on behalf of Federation's Annual Campaign, women take a leading role in raising funds—over $1 million annually—to meet the needs of Jews locally, in Israel, and around the world.

Meet Debbie Gordon, Women’s Philanthropy Chair

Welcome, I am so glad you are here!

We are a representative and inclusive group of women of all ages who are partners in tikkun olam, repairing the world. Collectively, we respond to the needs of our community locally and abroad through fundraising, volunteering and education.

I am so proud to be doing this work together. We are the changemakers and community-shapers of the world, sisters and daughters, mothers and friends, compassionate and committed.

My journey with Federation began more than 20 years ago through Women’s Philanthropy. I was in awe of the inspirational women, and our collective power. Now, it is our turn to lead the way.

We hope you will join us soon for a L’Chaim, or at one of our upcoming programs listed in the calendar found at the bottom of this page.

 Warmly,

There are three main ways to get involved in Rochester’s Women’s Philanthropy. Join them all, or get started with one:

Lions of Judah

The most dynamic group of philanthropic Jewish women in the world, LOJ is an international sisterhood of activists who care deeply about the Jewish future and commit their time, work, and money into shaping it.

Pomegranates

The Pomegranate is a symbol of a woman's commitment to—and compassion for—the Jewish people. This is a philanthropic giving level that represents the best of what Federation does: bringing together like-minded donors to do a world of good.

Social Action

This group is committed to improving the lives of the community through events and programs that inhabit the Jewish value of tikkun olam and inspire action throughout the Greater Rochester area.

Ways to Give

Every day, we work to provide compassionate, strategic, and comprehensive support, no matter the situation. There is no organization better positioned to do this than the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester.
