Through PJ Library, we mail free Jewish-themed books to children in our area. PJ Library, supported by Federation, JCC of Rochester, and generously funded by the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation, provides the means for Jewish families to give children the gift of Jewish literacy and a love for literature, music, and art.
Each month, PJ Library sends more than 230,000 books to subscribers across the United States and Canada, turning snuggly bedtimes into Jewish moments—and storytime into a connection with young Jews around the world.
Families raising kids from birth through 9 years old with Judaism as part of their lives are welcome to sign up. PJ Library is for all Jewish families, whatever your background, knowledge, family make-up, or observance may be.

The Jewish learning and connection doesn’t stop at 9 years old… it gets better!
Young adults from 9 to 12 years old can join PJ Our Way, which puts them in control. Each month, they can choose from four books selected by a panel of PJ educators, parents, and kids.
The selection takes place on a site which also offers book summaries, author bios, ratings and reviews, and video trailers. Participants can also take polls and quizzes, participate in monthly interviews and challenges, and comment on blog posts.
To keep our children engaged, Rochester also has our very own PJOW Kid Council, made up of tweens who participate several times a year to help choose, plan, and facilitate the program.
The newest addition to the PJ program is here to support the newest addition to your family!
Shalom PJ Baby welcomes new babies into the Rochester Jewish community. Parents who enroll receive a specially prepared gift bag for new babies up to six months old. Instill an early love of learning, reading, and Judaism by joining today.
PJ Library in Rochester is generously supported by the Max and Marian Farash Charitable Foundation, the Jewish Federation of Greater Rochester, and the Harold Grinspoon Foundation.
