Women's Philanthropy

Lion of Judah

The Lions of Judah are the most dynamic philanthropic Jewish women in the world. Lions are strong women of all ages, an international sisterhood of thousands of global activists who care deeply about the Jewish future. Lions of Judah play a vital role in creating social justice, aiding the vulnerable, preserving human dignity and building Jewish identity.

Lions demonstrate their dedication to the Jewish community by contributing an annual donation to the Jewish Federation of $5,000 or more.

Every two years, Lions gather for three days of extraordinary learning, sharing, and celebration at the International Lion of Judah Conference. Please mark your calendar for the next conference taking place January 12-14, 2025 in Atlanta, GA. We will share more updates as they become available. For questions, please reach out to Gitana Mirochnik.

The Rochester Lions also take on volunteer projects benefiting the general community, partake in our signature thank-you event each year, and receive special invitations to Federation happenings.

As a further show of support, roughly half of our Rochester Lions have taken the step to create a Lion of Judah Endowment (LOJE), ensuring their love for our Jewish community—and their legacies—will live on for generations via pledges of perpetual support to the Annual Campaign.
