Strengthening Jewish communities in Israel and around the world has always been—and remains—a top priority for our Federation. We do this by building connections to Jewish life overseas through local programming, sustaining a vibrant people-to-people connection with the Israeli city of Modi'in, and by allocating funds to partners in collective support of world Jewry. Federation also runs missions to Israel, which strengthen Jewish identity, build Jewish community, and grow Jewish philanthropy.
Federation’s Annual Campaign, supported by the greater Rochester community, enables us to help Jews in Rochester, Israel, and everywhere else. Learn more about the work of our overseas service partners and see how your contributions make a difference in communities around the globe:
The Annual Campaign also allows us to support five programs selected by the Rochester Federation:
Partnership2Gether
Programming such as ShinShinim, Education Bridge, and JFI, which supports the work we perform with our partner city of Modi’in.
Humanitarian assistance in the former Soviet Union
Through the JDC, we help over 80,000 vulnerable and elderly members in the region.
Children with special needs in Moscow
We provide funding to help children at the local ORT Technology School.
Integrating Ethiopian Israelis
Our funding, together with the Ethiopian National Project, helps 64 Ethiopian Israelis in 7th to 12th grade, participate in after-school and summer programs that help them integrate into Israeli society.
iRep
This program supports religious pluralism in Israel, working to increase accessibility around a full range of options for celebrating life-cycle ceremonies and Jewish holidays.
