Webcast - Will The Pandemic Create New Urban Landscapes

1:00PM - 2:00PM

Webcast

Tuesday, August 4th at 1:00 pm EDT

Presented by ISRAEL21c

Covid-19 has hit our cities hard. Stores are closing, theaters and cinemas are shut, and offices are emptying as people either work from home or lose their jobs entirely. In this atmosphere, it’s no surprise that people are leaving the cities in droves.

From Tel Aviv, to London and New York, our urban areas are under pressure in a way we haven’t seen for decades. Can they survive?

moderated by Nicky Blackburn, ISRAEL21c’s Editor and Israel Director. With Special Guests:

  •    Zippi Brand Frank, the Deputy Mayor of Tel Aviv-Yafo.
  •    Alan Aranoff, partner in AI Architecture and Urban Design.

  •    Professor Nurit Alfasi, Senior lecturer, Department of Geography & Environmental       Development, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

They will examine the current shifts in the urban landscape and discuss whether these trends will continue after the coronavirus pandemic.
