Six Nations Spirituality
Taught by Patricia Corcoran
March 11, 18, & 25, 2026
This three-part series explores Haudenosaunee history, values, and teachings through story and tradition, beginning with the creation story of Skywoman and the meaning of Turtle Island. We’ll examine how creation stories reflect a people’s relationship to land, community, and values, explore the Haudenosaunee Confederacy as the longest-functioning democracy in the world and its influence on the U.S. Constitution, and consider the Haudenosaunee emphasis on human responsibilities - to one another, the environment, and future generations - through the concept of a “Good Mind.”
