On November 9th – 10th, 1938, in an event known as the Night of Broken Glass, Nazis in Germany torched synagogues, vandalized Jewish homes, schools and businesses, and murdered close to 100 Jews. In the aftermath, some 30,000 Jewish men were arrested and sent to Nazi concentration camps.
