During shiva, the mourning period following a loved one’s death in Jewish tradition, the grieving family members sit together, receiving friends who help them to hold their pain and cherish the memory of the dead.
For this event, participants of all backgrounds and faiths are invited to sit in silence for one hour, from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Parcel 5. All who come are asked to bring a chair (we will have extras available), as well as a poster or sign that honors one life lost to gun violence in the United States. And please bring clothing donations!
Donations of winter clothes will be collected at 57 St. Paul Street until December 15.
