Where Your Money Goes: Elderly

Young and Elderly WomanOne of the basic tenets of the Jewish faith is that the elderly deserve deference and respect. Federation supports a continuum of services to the elderly, working with the federation system to provide nearly one million U.S. Jews over age 65 with social activities, healthcare, and necessary services such as transportation, housing, food and counseling.

Locally, Jewish Senior Life provides outstanding care to senior residents, those in need of rehabilitation, and members of the community who seek day treatment services.

The Federation, in cooperation with Jewish Senior Life, the Jewish Community Center and Jewish Family Service of Rochester, instituted Passport Senior Services - one-stop shopping for seniors and their caregivers providing transportation, support groups and access to home health care.
