In an exciting collaboration with three of our family of agencies, the Federation initiated Passport Senior Services, a ticket to "one stop shopping" for Jewish seniors in Rochester.
Jewish Family Service, the Jewish Community Center, and Jewish Senior Life, together with the Federation, have joined forces in a groundbreaking way to streamline services for seniors. With one phone call to Passport Senior Services – 585-697-3030 – or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, information about a full array of services can be accessed by seniors or their care givers.
The Federation is grateful to the late Rose Saltzberg who left a generous bequest to The Foundation for the Jewish Community, the Federation's planned giving program, earmarked especially for senior adult services. "A commitment from the Rose Saltzberg Unrestricted Fund, in addition to a $30,000 allocation from the Federation, helped make Passport a reality," noted Beth Bruner, Federation president. "It's just so exciting to have the Federation and three of its beneficiary agencies working together on behalf of seniors and their care givers."
Whether it's information about available transportation services, social and wellness programs, access to home health care or other important resources, Passport provides a central point of entry.
Passport was designed with the idea of maintaining seniors' ability to live independently and get the care they need for as long as possible. Passport will also help to smooth the transition for individuals when that option is no longer a possibility.
Call the Passport hotline – 697-3030 - when you need help for yourself or for the senior in your life.
