Be a Literacy Volunteer

Roughly three out of four Rochester City School children live in poverty; many of them do not even own a book. We invite you to "be a part of the solution" by signing up to be a Literacy volunteer.

This year the RJCL is collaborating with the Greater Rochester Community of Churches; all are welcome to join our coalition!

In ten successful years, hundreds of volunteers have assisted over 2,700 students. Over 10,000 books have been distributed to children, all through the Rochester Jewish Coalition for Literacy. The Coalition is coordiated by the Jewish Community Federation.

Just give a minimum of one hour per week and get back the most fulfilling opportunity of a lifetime. If you like kids and you know how to read, you can do it!

Questions? Contact Kirsten Buscetto or Isobel Goldman at igoldman@jewishrochester.org.

Together we can change the world.... one student at a time.
